Pierpont Concert Series
The Miklos Quartet was formed in the summer of 2006. The odd instrumentation is a result of violist Russell Podgorsek writing the music for long-time-collaborator Bill Strosnider’s wedding and utilizing the players at hand. The instrumental combination was surprisingly full and capable of both sumptuous blending and a clear delineation of voices. The quartet’s repertoire is incredibly diverse, ranging from jazz to classical to tango to children’s songs to contemporary music. The most distinguishing feature of the group however is their ability to be both serious and light-hearted, approaching music with both respect and a sense of humor.
